The global oilfield provider of engineered services and products primarily to the offshore oil and gas industry declares job vacancy to the following position:
Job Title: Inspection Engineer
Location: Baku, Azerbaijan
PRINCIPAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Ensure that overall inspection and certification of plant and equipment on the designated offshore installations comply with the requirements of appropriate standards, approved criticality procedures and statutory requirements to ensure continued integrity and plant availability
Issue formal certificates of examination for plant and equipment, including condition and observations
Apply judgement and experience in the assessment of defects and recommend future service life for approval or further assessment by Senior Inspection Engineer
Issue inspection queries/repair orders for anomalous/defect equipment where appropriate
Liaise with offshore installation personnel to ensure activities such as equipment scheduling, planning availability, etc., cause minimum disruption and are implemented to the highest standard
Conduct and document Type 2 and all toolbox talks and attend DM's safety meetings
Safety
Ensure that safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment.
Other
Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.
Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company.
Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.
QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING:
BSc Engineering (related subject) or HND/HNC Mechanical Engineer
5 to 10 years experience in the oil and gas industry as an Inspection Engineer
Certified to API 510 or NB23 or API 653
Thorough understanding of the most common NDT practices
Hands on experience with RBI processes
Understanding of Welding Processes and Metallurgy
Ideally degree qualified in an engineering related discipline, lesser qualifications will be accepted, provided significant experience in inspection engineering can be demonstrated.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in the field of plant and equipment inspection preferably offshore (E)
Experience in witnessing of pressure testing/testing of PSVs.
Able to demonstrate working knowledge of design, manufacture, materials, corrosion, welding, codes, standards and legislation associated with the in-service inspection of plant and equipment (E)
Familiar with QA/QC practices and NDE techniques (E)
Able to generate a team approach to problem solving (E)
Excellent communication skills (E)
NDT certification for core techniques (P)
