Role synopsis BP Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey Region (AGTR) invites experienced professionals to apply to the Health & Safety Turnaround (TAR) Specialist position in the AGTR Operations and Wells Health & Safety Organization. As Health & Safety TAR Specialist you will be based onshore and will be a focal point for AGTR Offshore TAR activity. As the job incumbent, you will be responsible to drive consistency, effectiveness, assurance and continuous improvement in the identified H&S TAR management systems and processes and be accountable for setting strategic direction, promoting best practice and providing expert advice and guidance.

In this role you will be working as part of Turnaround Team with line reporting within the Safety & Operational Risk organisation (S&OR).

Key accountabilities 

• Provide health and safety specialist expertise and advice to Offshore TAR Teams, leading the research and peer group involvement to ensure a comprehensive response;
• Provide day to day H&S support and advice to TAR Team Leads
• Lead development of Risk Management and Occupational Safety Risk Assessment;
• Review the TAR activity from Health Safety Environment (HSE) point of view and define HSE strategies to support the activity;
• Participate in actual offshore TAR campaigns providing first line HSE support to the activities;
• Act as HSE Tag for identified contractors developing, maintaining and managing the relevant HSE Bridging documents and HSE Plans including participating in the relevant H&S Management System audit process including managing the closure of any resulting findings and/or actions;
• Act as an HSE Incident Investigator; Participate in Incident Investigations as a Root Cause Specialist to determine Immediate and System Causes and develop Corrective Actions for TAR activity incidents.

Essential Education 

• University Degree

Essential experience and job requirements 

• Minimum 5 years of experience in offshore or combined offshore/onshore HSE operational roles

Other essential skills and knowledge 

• Knowledge of Control of Work (CoW), personal and process safety
• Good understanding and experience working with operational HSE Policies, Standards, Practices and Guidelines
• Incident investigation experience

Desirable criteria & qualifications 

Turnaround and/ or plant shutdown experience is a plus
