Provide technical assistance and resolution when mechanical and basic site / building maintenance problems are encountered;
Assemble and maintain mechanical systems according to engineering data and knowledge of mechanical principles, using hand tools and specialist instruments;
Carry out weekly checks on all vehicles and plant equipment;
To report a daily diary of work carried out;
To actively ask questions related to the task and to record this information;
Collaborate with engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve problems;
To ensure that all tasks are carried out as instructed and in a safe manner;
To keep the area tidy, and ensure equipment has been stored correctly;
To inform supervisors of possible dangers & hazard in the work area and if seen elsewhere at ORCA base;
He may be required to carry out other duties in other areas including off base as specified by management provided that he has suitable training and/or the necessary experience;
Prepare and maintain Vehicle and Equipment maintenance records and parts lists;
Source and Install Vehicle and Equipment parts and systems; prepare project cost and work- time estimates;
Plan, schedule and monitor work of support personnel where necessary
