Azerbaijan Tourism Board (Azərbaycan Turizm Bürosu) is responsible for the enhancement of destination value and for the creation of a unique portrait for the country. Azerbaijan Tourism Board is making extensive efforts to ensure successful tourism development; marketing and promoting the tourism potential of the destination.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Research Specialist.

Responsibilities:

• To organize all phases of conducting surveys among local and international tourists, including planning, fieldwork monitoring, arranging permissions for surveys, data gathering and reporting.
• To respond to requests for information in tourism statistics to the Tourism Research and Statistics Unit
• To help prepare statistical material for marketing, PR and promotion and where appropriate, to support the production of marketing or promotional publications
• To produce press releases (monthly, quarterly and annually) on the development of tourism in Azerbaijan
• To conduct analyses of tourism statistics and research in cooperation with other units of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board and publish corresponding reports within and outside of the Board
• To help collate tourism statistics and to improve the quality and availability of tourism statistics
• To regularly monitor the updating of the statistical database of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board and of the statistical information provided on the website
• To establish and promote contacts and cooperation with stakeholders in tourism statistics and representatives of the Tourism Industry
• To establish and promote contacts and cooperation with academics and researchers
• To complete all other ad-hoc tasks given by division head and department director

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience on empirical research, preferably in tourism or hospitality fields
• Good education in statistics at the tertiary education level, or demonstrably equivalent abilities
• Experience in working within an empirical research environment
• Excel (advanced level) is a must, SPSS is an advantage
• Experience in cooperation with experts from other disciplines; experience in tourism are an advantage
• Good communication skills with all team members
• Ability of teamwork and working under pressure
• Advanced English and Russian oral and written communication skills
• Punctual and solution-oriented person
• Being strict with deadlines
