Senior Mechanical Engineer
Job Description:
Principal Accountabilities:
- Verification the compliance of technical specification, prepared by the Contractor organization in the procurement process of mechanical equipment, with the requirements of the Modernization Project, as well as local legislation and regulations;
- Verification and approval of documents prepared by the manufacturer;
- Approval of the inspection plan during mechanical equipment preparation, close participation in the process of equipment acceptance;
- Preparation of response to technical surveys developed by main contractor or equipment manufacturer involved in the Modernization Project or approval of the prepared response;
- Collection of technical data related to HAOR and delivery to the Contractor organization;
- Participation at the technical meetings in the Modernization Project, control over the implementation of the steps taken at the meetings
- Direct participation as engineering support in equipment installation, adjustment and commissioning process;
- Engineering support for identification and procurement of spare parts;
- Direct participation in inspection process of equipment and pipelines to be revamped, verification and approval of inspection results;
- Preparation of relevant activity reports and submitting to the management;
- Continuous cooperation with other engineering fields, as well as with HAOR relevant departments, assisting in mechanical field and preparation of reviews.
Skills & Requirements:
Relevant work experience: 10+ years
Required field of experience:
- Equipment and service order:
o Procurement of all kinds of static mechanical equipment, preparation of Preliminary Technical Specifications, verification of project requirements compliance
o Technical assessment of proposals, preparation of relevant review (comments)
o Cooperation with manufacturing companies, specification of proposals and compliance to requirements, approval of any deviations and preparation of the Final Technical Requirement for the Order
- Coordination with manufacturer after order:
o Approval of required list of manufacturer documents
o Document classification (basic and supporting documents)
o Verification of documents and technical review, sending feedback to the manufacturer
o Document approval
o Coordination of inspection phases during production cycle, participation in admission tests
o Purchase of spare parts and special equipment
- Coordination with other engineering fields:
o Technological, Instrumentation and automation, civil, piping, electrical engineering
o Participation in construction and calibration processes
o Quality control, testing types
- Engineering calculations:
o Strength calculations
o Dynamic calculations
o Sustainability and static calculations
o Thermal calculations
- Software:
o HTRI, PV Elite, Compress
o 2D and 3D modelling (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Navisworks)
Areas of knowledge:
- API, GOST, ASME, NACE, ASTM standards
- For static equipment:
o Equipment under pressure, field of use, material selection, main parameters, protective fittings
o Columns, main characteristics
o Device internal arrangement
o Heat exchangers, their types, main characteristics, calculation types
- For pipes and fittings:
o Pipes, pipe joints, flanges, main fittings
o Material, pipe and fitting selection procedures
o stress calculations, supports and positioning rules
o about inspection and testing
o Isometric drawings, preparation procedure, information on material consumption
o Protective fittings
o Valves, their types, selection procedure and field of use
