Job Title: Oilfield Equipment Inspector

Job Description/Responsibilities: 

• To be familiar with inspection criteria of oilfield equipment as per international standards
• To carry out thread inspection as per manufacturer specifications or relative standards
• To carry out dimensional inspection of drilling pipes, casings and etc.
• To carry out Magnetic Particle Inspection on slip/upset areas on drilling pipes, collar and tube joints
• To carry out visual examination of the internal and external surfaces of drill pipe and HWDP tubes to determine general condition
• To carry out dimensional measurement of tool joint OD, ID, box shoulder width, tong space and box swell
• Appropriate use of inspection, measuring and test equipment/tools/devices
• Follow basic inspection procedures and undertake a qualitative test, be able to identify various surface patterns, discontinuity, crack or any defect.
• To prepare reports based on inspection results and report any defects to client and Service Division Manager
• Understand basic safety concerns that must be addressed in order to conduct non-destructive testing

Required Experience:

• Quality inspection, testing and reporting experience
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the oilfield equipment inspection
• Working experience with API RP5A5, API Spec5B, API 7G/2 standards and recommended practices

Skills, training or special knowledge:

• Good command of Microsoft Office - Excel, Word
• Good command of reading and writing of English language
• Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and international standards
• Working knowledge within an engineering environment
• University diploma on technical profession
• DS-1,  or any equivalent certification
• ASNT TC 1A level II (or recognised equivalent which complies with EN473) in magnetic particle examination and ultrasonic testing
