Position Name: Quality Control Manager

“Sumgait Technologies Park” LLC (further in the document “STP”) is looking for a Quality Control Manager.

The candidate should have experience in:

 Manufacturing Quality Control role;
 Implementation of Manufacturing safety and the quality control requirements, standards and specifications required for supplying the manufacturing industry.

Other requirements:

1.The position of the Quality Control Manager is assigned to a person who has Master’s degree in engineering (mechanical, welding, metallurgy, quality, etc.) field and previous minimum 5 years managing industry experience in QA/QC.
2. It’s preferable, but not required the candidate has an Associate membership of an appropriate professional institute e.g. CQI (Chartered Quality Institute)
3. It’s mandatory the candidate has ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certificate. Lead ISO 9001 Auditor certificate is desirable.
4. Internal and external audit experience is desirable.
5. Experience in managing of QA/QC department and TPI companies. Ability to write and check Inspection Reports and Technical Investigations.
6. Extensive knowledge of ASME (Pressure Vessels, Pressure Piping, etc.), AWI, API and BS EN standards, PWHT, hydro testing, etc.
7. Extensive knowledge of welding control techniques (CSWIP 3.1 or PCN Level 2), NDT (MPI, UT, RT, DP) – basic knowledge.
8. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
9. To be independent in daily routine and decision making with minimum supervision.

The position requires the candidate has leadership and team working skills within own area and across the business, ability to deal with multiple issues, tasks and priorities concurrently.

Job responsibilities include:

QC Management:

 To continuously review quality control processes, procedures and capabilities in order to sustain the most cost effective and efficient methods for meeting quality requirements, and making recommendation for improvement as appropriate.  Review client QC requirements and ensure that quality control documentation for a project meets contractual requirements.
 Review and approve Contractor and sub‐contractor quality control documentation to ensure their planned activities meet contractual requirements.

Resource Management

To co‐ordinate and control the day to day operations of inspection personnel, so as to provide a safe, secure and efficient working environment, ensuring:

 All plants and equipment are safely operated.
 All physical resources are maintained, stored and organized to allow efficient and effective operation.
 All QC resources, operations and facilities are controlled in order to adhere to project programs.

To manage and direct a team of skilled, semi‐skilled and technically based individuals through sound personnel practices such as:

 Performance management
 Relevant and effective inductions
 Identification of training needs
 Coaching
 Discipline

Compliance

 Manage and control all quality control activities in accordance with identified Quality Assurance standards, company procedures, client specifications and contract requirements.
 Assist in production of generic and project specific Method Statements and Risk Assessments.

Management Information

 To monitor and report quality control progress, notifying any predicted shortfall or discrepancies against timescale and budgets.
 Immediate notify the Head of the HSE department of any Quality Control issues.
 Provide accurate and relevant information as required by the business.

Co‐ordination and Liaison

 Contribute to Business Development and success of current projects by the internal referral and communication of appropriate information and intelligence, together with any project specific information.
 Provide comprehensive communication to underpin effective working relationships.
 Liaise with the Head of Manufacturing to ensure that project contractual and quality requirements within the schedule are supported and maintained through all stages of manufacture as to ensure project completion within the specified schedule

STP, launched in 2009, is the first and unique Technology Park of its kind in Azerbaijan and the South Caucasus region. STP a complex of plants qualified in different manufacture areas, capable to satisfy the needs of both domestic and foreign markets. There are Polymer Products Plant, Cable Plant, Hot Dip Galvanizing Plant, Heavy Machinery Building, Sandwich Panel Plant, Electrical Equipment Plant, Metal Construction Installation Plant, Technical Gases Plant, Fine Mechanics Plant, Aluminium and Copper Profiles Plant and Pressing Plant on the territory of STP.

STP is specialized in production of electrical equipment, cables, machine building, polymeric products, steel fabrication, hot-dip galvanizing, sandwich panels, ventilation systems, solar panels, powder coating and etc. All plants and production facilities are equipped with the best technological equipment, such as “Mazak”, “Gleason”, “Vuhan”, "EJONG", “Goodway”, “MILLSTAR”, “Proking”, “Dahlih”, “Durmazlar”, ”Ermaksan”, “Akyapak” and etc.

Our major clients are BP Global Projects Organization, Halliburton Energy Services Limited, Tekfen Holding, Azfen J.V., SOCAR Polymer, Samsung Engineering.

In March 2017 STP has started turnaround program immediately followed by team strengthening initiatives, as well as other large-scale institutional and operational changes. The aim of the reengineering is to secure wider (both local and specifically regional) brand recognition of STP via enhancing its production and sales capabilities. We are operating in a challenging and diverse environment, and we believe that with our new structure, business strategy, the reorganization of our business units, developing the production policies, procedures and putting customers at the center of our actions, we will contribute to the development of a stable economy in Azerbaijan.
