The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of war and internal violence and to provide them with assistance. It directs and coordinates the international relief activities conducted by the Movement in situations of conflict. It also endeavours to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles. Established in 1863, the ICRC is at the origin of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

The ICRC Delegation in Azerbaijan is seeking candidate, male or female, for the position of:
 
Field Officer/Psychologist (Grade 5)

Minimum required knowledge & experience:

• High Education in Psychology, clinical psychology (MA) is desirable
• 4 years work experience in a similar field of activity
• Fluency in spoken and written English and Azerbaijani
• Very good computer literacy
• Autonomy, good rigor, method and analytical skills
• Management and communication skills
• Good knowledge of the political, social and cultural  assigned environment
• Excellent team-player, self-starter and capacity to work towards multiples objectives and prioritize
• Able to work under stress

Responsibilities:

• Lead the program of psychosocial and psychological support for the families of missing persons (FoM) and strengthen the implementation of the program activities.
• Train relatives of missing persons and program partners, including on psychological skills in order to achieve continuity of services to FoM.
• Provide technical support to the local partners in Baku and Barda in terms of mental health and psychosocial support interventions based on the identified needs of FoM.
• Support the local partners on lobbying for funding in order to render the program sustainable without support from the ICRC.
• Participate in the implementation of other psychological and psychosocial support programs (program supporting deprived of freedom, program supporting frontline communities), including in the capacity of technical focal point
• Contribute to the delegation analysis and strategy through oral and written feedback, including internal and external reporting
• Collect and compile information according to given procedures
• Conduct data analysis and generate statistical reports
• Execute field tasks independently
• Manage the  implementation and follow-up of  projects (within the department)
• Translate documents for  non-institutional and institutional purposes
• Provide solutions to a wide range of problems to the superior
• Develop and maintain a network of contacts with partners and other interlocutors
• Available outside working hours for emergency calls from families of missing and local partners

This is a full-time position with a duty station in Baku with frequent trips to Barda and other areas of Azerbaijan, including areas along the Line of Contact and the international border with Armenia.
